Developing Athletes Workshop - 6.30pm, Tuesday 7th February
Dear fellow cyclist For some wintertime cycling inspiration - in warm and dry conditions (!) - why not come along to our Coast to Coast cycling slide show on 10 February at 8.00 pm (refreshments from 7.30) at Spencer Dallington Community Centre [click for Google map], Tintern Avenue, Gladstone Road, Northampton NN5 7BZ. The show consists of John Alcock presenting slides of "Cycling in Three Countries", followed by "Coast to Coast" about Brian Tunbridge's and my ride on the C2C route in April 2009. Entry is £2 and any profits will go to the Cumbria Foundation flood relief fund. A poster is attached with full details. I'd be very grateful if you could publicise the event to your club members. Welland Valley Cycling Club are based on the borders of Leicestershire and Northamptonshire around the Market Harborough area. We have over 150 members who travel from as far a field as Northampton, Oakham, Lutterworth and North Leicestershire to take part in our various club activities.
Our aims are to enjoy cycling and have fun. We do this in many ways. The club has riders active in many disciplines including Races and Time Trials on the road and track and an active off road contingent competing in Cyclo-Cross and Mountain Bike events. We also have a very active social scene within the club and aim to organise at least one trip to the Tour de France in July to watch a stage or two of the race. Closer to home, after our evening events we generally relocate to a local hostelary for food and a drink.
