World class town centre cycle racing is coming to Kettering on Thursday 10th June, and it's promising to be a big event.

Final details about this year's series are still being finalised but the teams have been invited and are looking forward to racing infront of enthusiastic audiences across the country.

In its first season the Tour Series was extremely popular attracting over 200,000 television viewers and it was estimated that an average of 10,000 people attended each event.

This year it is coming to Kettering where you have the chance to see professional racing cyclists, including World, Olympic, Commonwealth and British Champions competing on local streets.

As in 2009, the series will see the top 10 elite cycling teams in Britain compete around an hour long race of a 1.5km circuit starting at Kettering 's Market Place.

It will be free to watch and will be an exciting day for everyone with lots happening before the main event. This will include children's races, coaching sessions and other fun activities designed to get people involved.

If you can't be at the event you can still watch the exciting street race and see the town on ITV4.

The event is supported by Kettering Borough Council and is being funded by Northamptonshire NHS, East Midlands Development Agency and Northamptonshire County Council.
