Road Race Team update - 5 March

WVCC Road Race Team
Saturday 6th March at 2.00pm will see the fortunate fourteen riders take part in the first of six NCRA handicapped road races on the Middleton course.  The training rides that have preceded this event have been inspirational, exhilarating and very enjoyable despite the cold, wet and mucky conditions. Coaching and advice given by more experienced riders is superb. The support from the club and those members who have joined in on the training rides has added to the general feeling of being part of something greater than ourselves.
And please remember, this is not a private party or a clique of secret individuals protecting their own little empire but a gathering of riders enthused by the Bruntingthorpe experience, willing to ‘give it a go’ in a local road race. If you are interested in road racing and would like to get involved, now seems to be the perfect time as this cycling discipline grows again within the club.
Additional training rides will be organised shortly and the "Chain Gang" on a Thursday evening could become a regular meeting again this coming season.
Other races that the Road Race Team will be actively encouraged to get involved in will be:
The NCRA Summer series of handicapped races.
Duncan Murray Wines/AA Brown race at Naseby
The additional road race organised by Dean Barnett at Gilmorton
Other races that may be suggested by club members and that I am not aware of...yet!
The doors to the party are wide open and all are welcome to come and join in the fun. If you would like to be part of this scene, then keep reading the news items on the website or regularly visit the forum section. You could also let me have your email address and I will add it to what has become known as the hotlist Send it to captpopup@aol.com
