Tuesday Evening Club 10
The latest round of the Evening 10 Mile Time Trial Series was held on a new and testing, sporting course on Tuesday evening. The course, designed by Bill Barrie, was a rolling circuit starting at Thorpe Langton and taking in Welham, Weston By Welland, Slawston and finished on the steep hill leading into Church Langton.
Good weather on the night after rain during the day helped the riders, with David Clarke setting the benchmark for the course, recording a time of 24:43, ahead of Adrian Killworth 25:25. Taking third place was Bill Barrie 26:06, ahead of youngster Tom Harrison, with an excellent time of 26:14 for fourth place and Richard Mortimer, riding a standard road bike, completed the top five with a time of 26:16.
