Chaingang 15th July

Chaingang News.

The 'Chaingang'  is due to meet Thursday 15th July
****Meet at Church Langton School 6.30pm - 6.45pm to start riding at 6.45pm****

If you plan to have a go at road racing when the club events move to Bruntingthorpe, then the chaingang is the perfect place to come to pick up a few tips.

'Come and have a go if you think you've heard enough!'

The training session is open to all club members, and that welcome is warmly extended to members of other clubs in the surrounding area.

If you are new to cycling and are considering joining a club then please contact the New Member Liaison Officer for advice or to arrange a trial session. The officers email is available on the Welland Valley CC web site.

The chaingang course offers a challenging circuit with short cuts (if they are taken), that serve us in a number of ways:
    • They allow us to split up the main group initially
    • provide dropped riders a means to get back in with a working group.
    • allow slower groups to get back in front of a chasing group
    • provide a shorter route for riders who need them.
The course
From Church Langton school - Proceed to Thorpe Langton, then Welham and then to turn right to Weston by Welland and do Three circuits on the chain gang course (Weston by Welland, left to Medbourne, left to Slawston, left to Cranoe, Left to Welham and around again). When passing through Cranoe for the third time, instead of going left to Welham at Cranoe, carry straight on and turn left up to Church Langton and the school car park to complete the course.

For your Safety
It would be prudent to ride with a rear light and although daylight hours have increased, a front light is advisable if you intend riding home. A helmet is also advisable when riding in a group. I would also like to mention that Tri-bars should not be fitted and definitely not used.
