Week 2 - Vulcan Raids Results
Round 2 was blessed with superb conditions and attracted an enormous 56 young racers.
The Go-Kart circuit was completed in the opposite direction and the start and finish was located in the pit lane.
A healthy crowd of mums, dads and grandparents cheered on the racers.
Under 8 yrs old
With 28 under 8 yrs old registered I decided to run a separate race for their and my wellbeing.
The youngest racer and new Whizz Kid was Will Bradshaw (3yrs old)!
Fresh from holiday was Joseph Fletcher and used his explosive energy to slice through the younger age groups who had a slight head start. At the end of the third lap Joseph was at the head of the race, a position he held to take a fine solo win.
Behind it was James Bradshaw leading the chase ahead of the bubbly Millie Van Nierop and even younger Nicholas Wood.

Under 10's
The Under 10’s race looked like it was going to be ding-dong battle between Holly Barnett and Jamie Lydall until Jamie crashed out on lap 4.
With Holly accelerating in and out of every corner it was Fraser Ayers leading the chase.
There was some fine close racing in the middle of the pack as Louis, Alex, Ben, Isabelle, Phoebe, Jade (nice new bike Jade :O) ) Jake and Hannah contributed to some excellent racing and skillage.

Over 10's
The Over 10’s race was a superb example of how much the youngsters have developed in bike riding.
There were shed loads of aggression, tactics and excellent pace judgement.
At the head of the race Ross Barnett led 8 of the 11, but in close order were Jack Roginski and Josh Van Nierop.
Both Jack and Josh were happy to let Ross set the pace. With two laps to go Ross started to try and forge clear but the duo behind closed the door every time. Going into the final lap all three boys dived into the corners fighting to hold a strong position coming into the finishing straight.
Jack opened up the sprint and then Josh jumped clear to win from Jack and Ross.
Behind Dan Jordan and William Stone never gave up the chase and rode strongly to the end.
Amy Garner was first girl with a great display of powerful riding.
Exhilarating racing by all.

Well done all.
I hope Matt, Charlie, Max and James are all OK after crashing, if you look at my knees they are full of scares.
It is a sign of a very committed racer!
NEXT WEEK the action starts at 6.30pm….
Massive thank you to Ann (mum) Gaye and parents for your fantastic support.
