Tuesday night ...

On a fantastic dry crisp cold night for cycling the evening attracted 26.5 good natured cyclists to complete endless laps of a variety of different circuits.

This evening we had the pleasure of George Atkins who rode at a very conservative pace with the younger riders.

The bones of the session were....

Staying warm.
Giving Alice some long over due stick.
Keeping everyone upright

....

The evening kicked off with the pack getting tight and packed in. Once nice and tight the riders completed a number of confidence boosting skills.

It was then straight into teams 3’s, 4’s and a
Whizz Kids Development
group as each group worked as a unit to team time-trial from the front of the pack to the back.

With roads bone dry it was a super evening to start pinging the riders in and out of some corners. This evening’s drill was a progression on a drill from 2 weeks ago.
With high numbers the drill was completed as a Madison - one rider working, while the other rested, and then swap after a lap.
The riders hand to think about when to make a pass, gear selection in/out of the corners, speed and breaking - a lot to remember. The older riders did very well!
There were lots of mini explosions (not bodies) just lots of power being thrust down through the pedal strokes.

The final efforts of the evening were based around a 250m flat out and back circuit. Once again there was some great swishing of wheels as the riders battled to hold their place in the line.

Warm down was more confidence building riding.

A great atmosphere tonight, thank you.

A massive thank you to George for spending time back with the grassroots of the sport.

See you next week.
