Michael Burke travelled to Great Chishill, Hertfordshire to contest the Kenneth Lush Memorial Road Race, which is part of the Eastern League.
The race was held on a short lap circuit with 15 laps equating 80 miles.
A frantic race saw many breaks go down the road only to pulled back, as riders started to struggle it wasn't until 2 laps to go that
4 riders made a break that went all the way to finish.

There was another split on the last lap with 4 riders who managed to get a handful of seconds.
With 8 riders away the bunch were driving hard, in the last 400m Burke kicked hard leading the bunch gallop out, so fast was his turn of speed he managed to catch the second split. As the finish line approached Michael was straining every muscle to secure a strong finish.
His reward was an excellent 9th.
