Valley Cycling Club Equal Opportunities
Policy
Introduction
The Club aims to be an Equal
Opportunities Club as we believe that life
is positively enriched for all of us by the
diversity of individuals in society and that
all have a contribution to make.
We aim to ensure that no individual
receives less favourable treatment on the
grounds of:
Race, colour, nationality, ethnic or natural
origin, age, gender, marital status, caring
responsibilities, sexual orientation,
physical or mental health, political belief,
religion, class, employment status or
unrelated criminal conviction.
Why is an Equal Opportunities Policy

seen to be justified.
- To comply with the Sex Discrimination

both direct and indirect discrimination.

Monitoring
The policy will be reviewed annually by
the Club.
Any club member with a complaint or
grievance related to equal opportunities
should, in the first instance, contact the
chairman, vice-chairman or the secretary.
Alternatively they can speak to a second
party who can act on their behalf.
All complaints will be considered by the
committee. If the complaint is upheld, the
committee will deal with the offending
member in accordance with Club rules. The
complainant will always be informed of the
judgment of the committee and how the issue
has been resolved.
All members of the Club have responsibility
for ensuring that both the spirit and the
letter of Equal Opportunities Policy are
implemented and promoted. British
